This film does a wonderful job of depicting the athleticism of synchronized swimming and the close bonds that form because of working so closely together. Any person involved with synchro will recognize all the important details conveyed in this film: Knox gelatin to keep the hair in place, designing and sequinning suits, hours of practice both in water and on land. The support of the parents to help their children achieve their dreams, the years of living on meager incomes to pursue this sport that is often maligned. I found the bits of footage that the athletes shot as they entered the Olympic Arena in Athens moving. It felt like an honest experience of the women to have this incredible experience of competing at a high level. The personal story of one swimmer who had to deal with so many horrible challenges during this preparation for the Olympics in 2004 was particularly moving. If you ever get a chance to see this film, I recommend it.
