Lord, Save Us From Your Followers

Categories: Documentary Features, Official Selections

Run time: 100 min.
Fed up with the angry, strident language filling the air waves that has come to represent the Christian faith, director (and follower) Dan Merchant set out to discover why the Gospel of Love is dividing America. The result is the new documentary film Lord, Save Us From Your Followers. The collision of faith and culture has never been this much fun.

Shot on location from Addis Ababa to New York to America's least-religious city, Portland, Oregon, the film includes exclusive interviews with comedian Al Franken, Senator Rick Santorum, "liberal evangelical" Dr. Tony Campolo, radio host Michael Reagan, plus many more. No stone is left unturned in this engaging, unpredictable and challenging look at the conflict over religion in America.

The basis for this film is one I feel is needed to open up the dialogue between any peoples that do not see eye to eye in this country or even in this world. The interviews were almost all great. The ideas were pretty good and were carried out well. Some things seemed redundant or unnecessary, but it was still very good. My favorite part was the confession booth.
